Star-petal Shadows
Their love --
plucked from the sky
in star-petals
too fragile to survive.
Their marriage --
filtered through whispers
of a promise
that never took root.
Wading in her private pool
of memories, she watches
the transparent glow
of yesterday's promise
sinking
in star-petal shadows.
